Here's something kind of funny and interesting. About 1:00 pm today I went out to pick up todays fresh layed eggs in my yard and here's how they were in the nest. I should have turned that one egg with the poop on it. Six eggs so far today and that white one with the butt cut off. That isn't a real egg it's a woden egg that I put in the nesting box when they started laying because they were new to laying and were laying just anywhere. In the dirt, on hay, under the feeder and so I found wooden eggs at Michael's and put one in each of the laying/nesting boxes and they saw that and began to lay in the proper palce for the eggs. So I still leave one in a box and switch it up because as you see in the picture below they will all tend to lay in one nest. So here's today's clutch of fresh layed eggs. See that one big egg. One of the hens every so often lays really big eggs. Here is that big one layed this morning on the far right. The white one in the middle is the average sized egg they pretty much lay. The one on the left is yesterday's large egg. That white egg weighs 2,30 ounces. The large one on the righ(today's)weighs in at 3.40 ounces. That's a whopper! # inches long to. I don't know which one actually layed it. When I took the picture I used the flash which I shouldn't have but I think you can still see the main point I'm making.

Ha..! I just picked up two more eggs that were layed since I picked six up earlier this afternoon. That means all eight hens layed today. That's good!
