I keep wanting to try planking. I have 1x8 cut offs of cedar from a job and never get around to trying it. The cod looks very good Jess. Like the coleslaw and the mac salad. How long did you soak the wood for Jess and any other tips or instr. to share -JimZ

How long did you soak the wood for Jess and any other tips or instr. to share -JimZ They recommend soaking the planks for at least 45 minutes. I just let them soak a couple of hours until I got ready to cook. I did put salt in the water to give the wood a salt base. You can put any seasoning you'd like to give the wood a seasoning. One thing you will need for sure is a spray bottle with water in it because the planks will try to flair up on ya. I only had the fish on for about 20 minutes. Give it a try you will enjoy the flavor that the wood gives the fish. Well at least we did.
