Thanks squirt! I don't know how I missed this. Question: Which Traeger model do you have? Or better yet, does yours drain to the left or right. I have an Executive 125 which drains to the right but, I find the left side is hotter.
So you say it took 12.5 hours to cook one frozen and two thawed, Is the cooking time different or equal if they're all frozen or all thawed? Just wondering if they were all the same if cooking time is in creased or decreased at all. I do realize no two butts are the same too.

So do you think the cook time was the same due to that side of the grill running hotter? Seem odd they would finish at the same time.

I have the 070. Drains (and vents) to the right. I find the right side runs about 20° hotter, so I put the frozen butt over there, and the 2 thawed butts on the left side. They all reached 200° IT in just over 12 hours. If I put them on thawed, the ones on the right side are usually done in about 10 hours. OK. That makes sense. You notice any difference in the final product? Im thinking if not then whats the point in me thawing in the fridge for a week.

I've never noticed a difference. It all comes out as pulled pork in the end. YMMV doing these on a Keg, though.. Like I said, these are convection cookers. Sound be the same. The keg is a convection cooker also.
