It's really not a difficult thing to make.
you'll need:
two cans of Pillsbury Crescent Rools dough
1/4 lb of thin sliced ham(real ham not the cheap stuff) 1/4 lb Genoa Salam 1/4 lb Provalone Cheese 8 oz. good olive salad(NOT Giardiniera)
Extra I added 1/4 lb Hot Capicola or Sopressata 1/4 lb Swiss Cheese
Heat oven to 375 Open one can at a time and unroll Crescent Rolls. I separated in triangles but you can use as rectangles. Lay in a circle like a shining sun of a 12 inch round pan which has been sprayed with nonstick release baking spray. Seal dotted seams and overlap dough. layer your meats and cheeses in a circle. Add olive salad on top and fold over the excess dough. Bake about 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool aboput 10 minutes, slice and serve.

Actually I saw something very similar on a Facebook page but when I went back to look for it I couldn't find it. So, I went to the Pillsbury site and found it. I did mine a little differnt from the original recipe leaving open spaces on top. That's it!

What I used this time was Rouse's brand. I liked the look of it with the chunky olives and thought I'd give it a try. Pretty darn good! Another one I see around here is Boscoli which is good but if you can and are ever near Nor Joe Imports in old Metairie on Focis go in there and get some. Of course the best is probably from Central Grocery in the Quarter. You can order theirs online too.
I'm not too keen on the ones with the excess giardiniera. It's supposed to be olive salad not pickled veggies.

I guess it's a matter of how far you have to bring it and whether or not you want to serve it hot, warm or cold. You can always bake it at the friend's house and serve whenever you want to. Personally, I like it slightly warm.
Brenda, how about joining the forum next time?
Thanks!
