Well, it looks like we(Louisiana)have our selves a tropical storm off the coast of Louisiana. The weather around here isn't looking very good for at least the next four days with a lot of rain expected. I hope it just gets moving and passes through quickly without causing much damage in it's wake. I'm supposed to be going up to north Alabama to cook for 800 triathlon participants at aRed Cross fundraiser next week so, I hope Lee is gone from up that way by then also. www.wwlhurricanecentral.com/

Well I'm awake early today. Got a call from the Parish Emergency Warning system a little after 5:00 am about a tornado warning/watch for the area so I'm up. It's raining extremely hard here and has been raining non-stop since yesterday afternoon and the wind gusts are increasing. Talk about unnerving, this is weather you can't do anything about but watch it pass by and of course all weather is like that but, I hate when it keeps you trapped indoors.

Wow! The streets in my neighborhood are already flooding with about eight inches of water in front of my house. I had to go out and move my truck into the driveway. Got a few branches down in my yard from a neighbor's pine tree in their yard. I hope the chicken pen survives as it's under a big branch of that pine tree. When the rain slacks off I may have to go move my avacado and lemon trees to a wind protected area. We aren't even close to the worse of Lee yet and already have pretty bad wind.

Thanks Key, we've had a litlle lull of heavy rain for about the last hour and a half but, it looks like it's about to start coming down hard again and wind is picking up. I had to go out and move a big branch and repair the tarp over the chicken pen and then clear the patio off of stuff that could blow around and away when the wind really get here. I took a run to my office to amke sure everything was okay there. It was, except for wind driven rain that got up under the front door so, I set up a blower to dry up the wet carpet there. On the way home I stopped and got a dozen doughnuts and some(still warm)fresh french bread. Thyat'll make some good poboys and either bread pudding or Pain Perdu for breakfast tomorrow morning. Back home and waiting for more rain. If I get bored enough I might do some cooking.

More of the same here, RAIN. No complaints with what it could be. I think the worst part we got was yesterday morning with the high winds and street flooding so it's not a problem with me sacrificing a long weekend compared to what some have had to deal with. I just hope Lee gets to moving out of here and spreads some much needed rain where it's really needed.

Not much of a storm in my area anymore but we are having a consistantly steady drizzle with a heavy shower occaisionaly since last night. It's supposed to be like this most of today too. Time for Lee to get out of here!! I think I heard my chickens quacking this morning! ;D

Jason, y'all will probably get some high winds on the back side as the storm passes through. We're getting 37-48 mph wind gusts right now from a cold front coming through. Supposed to be drying up by this afternoon. I hope the weather is nice this weekend up in Scottsboro.

About 2:00 pm this afternoon I saw this odd thing that I haven't seen around here for about four days and had to get a picture of it as I could hardly believe seeing it myself. I think we used to call it blue sky. ;D It did cloud up again after this brief sighting and I thought for sure we were in for a little more rain. It ended up not raining and turned nice and very Fall like with a wonderful temperature.

You weren't joking about that high wind on the back end of the rain. I had two tree's down and our power was out for a full 24 hours… Just came on about 15 minutes ago...
