Hii.. Does someone have a fool proof biscuit-like dairy free and egg free base for a slice? Or what is the best butter alternative that will stay firm when set? I want to make a wagon wheel marshmallow slice type thing for my lactose intolerant nephew. And my other nephew is allergic to eggs. I have a dairy free egg free marshmallow recipe so that’s easy, but need something to put under it. (I’m just omitting the chocolate topping cause it’s still yum without chocolate) Also, should I bake the jam layer with the crust? I’m thinking that will help the marshmallow to stick better rather than pouring it straight on top of wet jam. Please help. I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. If you want a biscuit-like base without butter try substituting the butter with lard or Crisco in the recipe. Should get a good result. You could probably find a recipe using the lard or shortening too.
