We were invited to other “orphans” for Thanksgiving this year (we alternate). So, didn’t have a turkey to make Super Bowl gumbo. I found a 10-lb. frozen turkey at Rouse’s, so that is what we did. After defrosting, i injected it well with Cajun Garlic Butter stuff, and Larry put it on the Egg for about 2-1/2 hours today. Brought it inside and let rest for a while.
Sliced the white meat for sandwiches. The dark meat and carcass will become gumbo.
This was the ABSOLUTELY BEST TURKEY I have ever tasted! Nice smoke flavor, very tender, moist. The dogs and I enjoyed my time breaking it down and slicing it up!
I would have added a pic, but it doesn’t work any more. Any ideas?

Georgia, that sounds like one delish turkey. Need to make "The Bread" for those turkey sammies. As far as photo sharing. I use flickr. Little bit of a learning curve using it, but not hard. Before flickr, I was using photo bucket, but they decided not to be free. Give flickr a try.

Sounds great! I had like four After Thanksgiving Day sandwiches over the weekend. I love 'em!I used that Cajun HOT Butter stuff on ours and it was great! Try using a photo host site like Flickr www.flickr.com/ and you'll be able to save and post pictures.
