I'm not sure what made me think of this but, here goes. What's the oldest(working)kitchen appliance, utensil and or cookware that you own? I know we all have old knives, pots and pans that may have been handed down. Let's hear about what they are and how old you think or know they are.

I saved this from the dumpster just last week. I'm going to use it to keep my sourdough starter at a contant 75°F. Our house is always below 65° and my starters wont start. I think this Gem is probably about 30 or 40 years old.

Im not sure when this was made but I think in the 40's or 50's. Its a Hobart 410 slicer. Since those pics I have cleaned, oiled, and sharpened it. Works like new.

Cool slicer! Key, I keep my starter in the fridge and have no problem with it going active when I use it. Maybe JimZ could elaborate on that.
