With all this heavy rain we have been getting, it has been taking a tole on my my dill forest. Some of the plants have been rotting at the roots. So when given dill, make dill bread! The day before I made the bread I made a starter with 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 cup beer, and a pinch of yeast. To go in the dough I toasted up some sun flower seeds, yellow mustard seeds, dill seeds, and flax seeds. Toasted seeds are are added to the started and ready to make the dough. Dough ball is looking nice with lots of green dill. After the first rise and ready for shaping Second rise and waiting for the oven. The loaves came out looking pretty good. One I will share with a co worker. Sliced and ready to go. Ate the noses right away. Had some great brown bag work roasted pork sammies this past week. The fellow I gave a loaf to gave a thumbs up. -JimZ
